Laura Collins is a proud partner and co-owner of Collins Accounting and Tax Service, a well-established firm she founded nearly 30 years ago. With a deep commitment to providing personalized, reliable accounting and tax services, Laura built the business from the ground up, earning a reputation for her expertise and dedication to client success. Today, Collins Accounting and Tax Service continues to thrive, offering comprehensive financial solutions to individuals and businesses alike.

Laura Collins is an Enrolled Agent (EA), which allows her to represent taxpayers at all administrative levels of the IRS. Laura specializes in tax preparation and tax planning for individuals, companies, corporations, and nonprofits. She is an expert at analyzing each client in a unique way which leads not only to tax savings, but also to greater profitability. The most rewarding part of Laura’s job is the thanks she gets when she saves someone money through her extensive knowledge of the tax system.

In addition to her work in the firm, Laura is actively involved in local business organizations, where she shares her experience and works to foster a strong, supportive community for small businesses. Her philanthropic efforts also extend to charitable causes, where she regularly contributes her time and resources to organizations that make a meaningful impact.

A true family business, Laura now works alongside her two daughters as partners in the firm. Together, they bring a blend of experience, fresh ideas, and innovative thinking to the workplace, ensuring that the business remains dynamic and responsive to the needs of their clients.

Through her leadership, community engagement, and the strong partnership with her daughters, Laura Collins continues to make a lasting impact both in the business world and her local community.  Her greatest joys, besides helping her clients save money, are her 6 grandchildren and her little dog, Piper.

Nicole Markwood, CPA

Nicole Markwood is the co-owner of Collins Accounting and Tax Service, bringing her expertise in accounting and tax services to clients across Michigan and Ohio. A certified public accountant, Nicole holds licensure in both states and has built a reputation for providing reliable, thoughtful guidance in the financial industry.

Nicole’s academic journey took her through Michigan State University and the University of Michigan, where she honed her skills in accounting and business. A proud native of Lambertville, MI, Nicole has deep ties to the community and is raising her family in the same hometown she grew up in.

In addition to her professional role, Nicole is an active member of several organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP), the Michigan Association of CPAs (MICPA) and the Ohio Society of CPAs. She also serves as a board member of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).

When she’s not working, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids and dog. A lover of reading, golfing, boating, swimming, and traveling, she values making lasting memories with her family and exploring new destinations.

Sherrie McCormick, CPA

Sherrie is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of Michigan, with a background in tax accounting and payroll services. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in 2008 and has over 15 years of experience in the field. Throughout her career, Sherrie has specialized in income tax preparation for international taxpayers, as well as tax services for small businesses and individuals. Her expertise also extends to working with the IRS and state and local tax agencies to efficiently resolve client matters. Sherrie is deeply committed to helping small business owners and individuals manage and grow their financial security.

In addition to her professional work, Sherrie is highly involved in her local community. She serves as a board member for the Parent Teacher Organization at a local elementary school, volunteers at local elections, and sits on the Board of Zoning Appeals for Bedford Township. Sherrie is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP).

A Bedford native, Sherrie has a deep love for Michigan and enjoys all the outdoor activities the state has to offer. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her husband, two daughters, and Australian cattle dog. She also finds time for golfing, exercising, and practicing yoga.
